RETURN TO WORK PROGRAMS
Return to work support for Australian employers
WCS provides return-to-work support at the level your organisation needs—from advice that strengthens your existing team to specialist case support and, where permitted by the applicable scheme, outsourced coordination. We tailor our involvement to your workforce, internal capability and circumstances.
Discuss Return to Work Support
Your enquiry will be treated confidentially and directed to the appropriate WCS consultant.

Flexible return-to-work services, shaped around your needs
Some employers have established HR, safety or injury-management teams and need targeted advice. Others need extra capacity for complex matters, consistent coordination across locations or an ongoing service. WCS can work alongside your people or provide a broader level of support, subject to the requirements of the relevant workers compensation scheme.
Support your existing team
Practical advice, program reviews and guidance for your HR, safety and return-to-work staff, with your internal team retaining day-to-day ownership.
Add specialist case support
Focused assistance for complex, sensitive or prolonged matters, including support with stakeholder coordination and return-to-work planning.
Outsource coordination where permitted
Ongoing coordination tailored to your organisation where the applicable scheme allows this arrangement. We clarify responsibilities and work with your nominated contacts.
Review and improve your program
An independent view of how your current arrangements are working, with recommendations matched to your workforce, operating model and priorities.
Designed for your organisation—not a one-size-fits-all model
We agree the scope of support with you, taking account of your internal resources, locations, claim profile and preferred level of involvement. Services may be targeted to a particular matter, delivered as additional specialist capacity or arranged as ongoing support.
Our workers compensation consultants work with employers across Australian schemes. The services available and the roles each party can perform vary by jurisdiction and circumstances, so we confirm the appropriate arrangement before work begins.
Support for physical and psychological injury
WCS can support employers with return-to-work matters involving physical or psychological injury. We adapt our involvement to the circumstances and coordinate with relevant workplace contacts and providers as agreed. Our psychological injury support helps employers manage sensitive matters with care and appropriate specialist input.
Where rehabilitation or allied health input is needed, we can connect the return-to-work service with ABILITY GROUP's broader workplace rehabilitation and advisory capability.

Return to work program FAQs
Can WCS work with our existing HR or return-to-work team?
Yes. We can provide advice, program review or case-specific support while working alongside your existing staff. The scope can be tailored to the roles and capacity you already have.
Can WCS provide outsourced return-to-work coordination?
In some circumstances, WCS can provide ongoing coordination. What can be outsourced depends on the applicable scheme and the employer's situation. We confirm the permitted service scope and responsibilities with you before agreeing an arrangement.
Does outsourcing transfer the employer's legal responsibilities?
No. An outsourced service can provide agreed coordination and specialist support, but it does not remove an employer's duties. WCS will clarify the division of responsibilities as part of the service scope.
Is the same service available in every Australian state and territory?
Workers compensation schemes and role requirements differ across Australia. We discuss your locations and circumstances first, then confirm the services WCS can provide in the relevant jurisdiction.
What if we are unsure how much support we need?
We can discuss your current arrangements and priorities, then recommend a suitable level of involvement—from targeted advice to ongoing support where permitted.
Find the right level of return-to-work support
Talk with WCS about your current arrangements, the capacity of your internal team and the support you need. We will discuss a service scope that fits your organisation and the requirements of the applicable scheme.
Connect return to work with the broader program
